Dr Martin Goodman

Martin is a senior HR professional who has worked as an HR Director, interim, management consultant and researcher across the public and private sectors in the UK and oversees for around 40 years. He holds a PhD from the University of Leeds and and recently published Bastards at Work: Universal Lessons on Bullying from Contemporary French Storytelling, (Peter Lang) 2021.
His recent consulting clients include job evaluation and reward redesign at Devon & Cornwall Police, job evaluation and competency development for HM Prison Service in England and Wales, job evaluation for the Commonwealth Secretariat, and process redesign for the National Probation Service. Earlier in his career, Martin was Group HR Director for Alpha Airports Group and VP HR Europe at Kvaerner, as well as holding senior consulting roles in major reward consultancies. He has led a range of private sector JE and reward projects in the private sector in such sectors as engineering, business services and pharmaceuticals which have led to major cultural shifts in both the UK and overseas. He is a former Chartered Fellow of the CIPD, holds an MSc in Management Studies from Durham, an MA in Comparative Literature from London, and a language degree from the French Education Ministry.
